Show Me Your #GrowWhatYouLove

What do you love to grow?

A recent visit to New York City reminded me that, while we may live far and wide, we all have something we love to grow. And, in many ways, these things – whatever they are –  tell our stories, ultimately defining who we are, where we’ve been and where we hope to go.

Which leads me to this:

I’d like to invite you to share what you love using the hashtag #GrowWhatYouLove on Instagram. Your photos will be streaming live through the Pass the Pistil Facebook page. Follow this link to see what friends are sharing:  #GrowWhatYouLove.

When you post an image to Instagram and tag it with #GrowWhatYouLove and @passthepistil you’ll be automatically entered to win a farmer’s market bag, journal and stickers (see above — I hope you love them as much as me).

#GrowWhatYouLove on Instagram

  1. Capture images of the things you love. Include yourself, your family, friends, plants, gardens… you love it, you grow it, you post it.
  2. Post images to Instagram and tag with #GrowWhatYouLove and @passthepistil
  3. Forward to friends. Tag friends in the comments section of an @passthepistil image so they can share in the fun.
  4. Check out the #GrowWhatYouLove community images here.
  5. You’re automatically entered to win a Grow What You Love garden journal and farmer’s market bag.

Here are few more things I learned this past week while visiting New York City:

  • Growing is infectious. When you take time to grow just one or a handful of things, there is a chain reaction. As John Muir said, “When we try to pick out anything by itself, we find it hitched to everything else in the Universe.”
  • The things we chose to grow — weather they be plants, landscapes, families, music, art, food, you name it — are important. These are the things that give life meaning.
  • It’s positivity at work. We need this. In today’s world, with so much at stake, we get so much more done when working together.
  • Sharing what you love to grow is a good thing. This is how we learn about ourselves, each other and the world around us.

If you don’t have an Instagram feed, that’s okay, pass this along to a friend and share through the comments section of this post or directly through the Pass the Pistil Facebook page.

Either way, can’t wait to see your images!
