Guerrilla Gardening Surprise

sunflowerpaperpots2I have a new guerrilla gardening tactic. Walk around with a flat of seedlings wrapped up neatly in paper pots and see what happens. I love the quizzical looks – eyes quickly darting from me to the tray, back to me and then back to the tray. The smile comes somewhere in between. It’s certainly a conversation starter. Meaning comes when I offer happy passerby’s a seedling – better yet, in this case, a sunflower.

I’ve learned there’s something wonderfully powerful in the simple act of growing. Here, in our gardens, we can repair ourselves and our plots of earth with our own two hands. GROW WHAT YOU LOVE and GROW NOW!

That sounds like a lot of fun to hand out seedlings. People don’t expect such generosity. Have Fun in the Garden!
