In this episode, we pick up where we left off in episode 2, at the home and studio of William Ryan Fritch. If you remember, he’s a musician, original film score composer, and gardener with an infectious laugh and a natural talent for cooking.

Listen to One of William’s Original Film Scores and Get Ready for some Impromptu Mixology

You’re in for a listening experience like no other because I’m taking you with me to the home and studio of William Ryan Fritch or Willie Ry Fry as you’ll find him on social media. He’s a composer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist based in Northern California.

If you’re not familiar with Williams work, he’s known for creating original film scores. Check out movies like the 2017 Oscar-nominated documentary film 4.1 Miles; the film Bill Nye: Science Guy; and Artifishal, a 2019 Tribeca nominated documentary film directed by my better half – Josh Bones Murphy — which, inside scoop, is how I first met William.

When I described Ryan as a multi-instrumentalist I meant it. For instance, when he created the music for Artifishal, he played each and every instrument, recorded them individually and then wove them together into the original score we hear in each of his films. Amazing, right?

Part 2 of my Conversation with William

We visit William in his home and studio in Petaluma, California. This was an incredible experience that only gets better in episode two.

Part one began in William’s kitchen where he was making breakfast for his family. And, after breakfast, we made our way out to his studio where we had a chance to hear some of William’s many instruments in action.

Episode 3, Part 2

In Episode three, part two we hear some of the music William is currently recording. He walks us through this riveting composition, explaining how it came together.

We then wrap up our conversation with cocktails made with herbs from my garden. William’s intuitive sense for flavors is just as strong as his sense for music.
